George Webb’s Restaurant to give away free burgers at their locations for the 12th straight Brewers win.

On Wednesday, the Milwaukee Brewers won their 12th consecutive regular season game. A streak in Milwaukee celebrated with free burgers from George Webb’s Restaurants. The burgers will be handed out August 20th from 2 – 6 pm at George Webb locations throughout the city.

The George Webb Restaurant chain started in Milwaukee in 1948. Since their inception, George Webb himself made the bold prediction that the Brewers (Milwaukee Braves at the time) would win 12 consecutive games. If they won these 12 games, he believed everyone in the city deserved a burger. (RELATED: Braun, Fielder Bring the Boom in Brewers Alumni Slugfest)

The Brewers flirted with the streak earlier this year, losing to Seattle on July 22nd to snap the 11 game streak. However with the complete of the series sweep against the Pirates this week, they have secured their 12th straight win.

A feat that the crew has not achieved since 2018 and before that in 1987, during a regular season 13 game winning streak. This record stands as the Brewers longest standing winning streak, giving the Crew a chance to tie or set a new record in an upcoming series against the Reds.

Brandon Woodruff, the starting pitcher for the Brewers on the 12th game, mentioned he was seriously nervous for the start. “Seriously, I wanted to win those burgers,” said Woodruff in his postgame interview.  “I wanted to win the burgers for everyone in the stands, including myself,” said Woodruff. The Crew are looking to extend their streak in another 8 games in 7 days against division rivals, including 5 against the Chicago Cubs which includes a rain make up game from June 18th.
