Last Monday, President Trump made an announcement on Truth Social that he is vowing to remove mail-in voting and voting machines, making the claim that these methods lead to voter fraud. 

In his press conference with President Zelensky, President Trump was questioned about the mail-in ballots. “Mail-in ballots are corrupt,” said Trump flat out in his response. “You can never have a real democracy with mail-in ballots,” says Trump. Trump also mentioned he has a team of lawyers working on drafting an executive order to abolish mail in voting before the 2026 mid terms. 

“ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING, and everybody, IN PARTICULAR THE DEMOCRATS, KNOWS THIS. I, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WILL FIGHT LIKE HELL TO BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY BACK TO OUR ELECTIONS. THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!!” said Trump on Truth Social.

Wisconsin has made headlines recently with a absentee voting scandal concerning last year’s Presidential Election in Madison. In short, Madison lost, and failed to count 193 absentee ballots in the 2024 Presidential Election. In Wisconsin, 1.5 million people voted early, and about 600,000 voted by mail.  “American elections should be free, fair and secure, I look forward to working with President Trump to address concerns and maintain the integrity of our elections,” said Representative Bryan Steil on a social media post. 

Since 2022, there have been 15 election fraud cases in Wisconsin according to the Heritage Foundation Database. Most recently, a case involving election fraud with mail-in ballots.
