In a distressing development, the elderly victims of a brutal attack by four Milwaukee public high school students have spoken out for the first time. The assault, captured on video, led to the arrest and charging of the teenagers involved. Three of the four accused have appeared before a judge, who has ordered them to remain in secure custody.
Victims Jessie Andino and Freddie Vega shared their experiences in a juvenile court hearing. Andino expressed his frustration, stating, “What he did to me, that’s uncalled for. He knew what he was doing, and he’ll go out there and do that again.” Vega described the violence, saying, “Punching us and kicking us like we’re two piñatas, we are humans too. There was no reason for them to come to us.”
The video footage shows the assailants viciously attacking Andino and Vega, leaving them on the ground. In court, both a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old have denied the charges. The judge has mandated their continued detention. The remaining accused will face a court hearing Thursday at 2:30 p.m., according to TMJ4.
