Brennen Huebner, a frustrated Milwaukee resident, took drastic action Wednesday morning after his GMC pickup was vandalized for the third time in two months.

Waking up around 3 a.m. to the familiar sound of a smashed window, Huebner confronted the suspects who were fleeing in a silver Jeep. In a tense encounter, Huebner drew his pistol, prompting the suspects to drive off, according to WISN

“I was like, ‘What are you guys doing?’ They all jumped into their vehicle and they, they looked like they were going to drive off,” Huebner said. “And I was standing about right here looking at their plates, trying to get them. That’s where they did a U-turn and charged at me. That’s when I pulled out my pistol, and they veered off and kept going down.”

Huebner, who lives near Plaza Hotel on Milwaukee’s lower east side, expressed his frustration with both the vandals and his insurance company. “I’m paying an extra $100 a month just in case this happens again,” he said.

Neighbor Clayton Shimetz, another victim, reported that vandals had also damaged a temporary fix on his car. Both men are now planning to move away, disillusioned by ongoing crime and inadequate insurance support.
