As authorities continue to investigate the brutal murder of beloved conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, a man who was mistakenly identified as the assailant in the initial chaos following the shooting said that he falsely claimed he committed the heinous act to ‘draw attention away from the real shooter’.
The man’s admission has fueled speculation that the current alleged shooter, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, did not act alone.
The man who falsely claimed to be the shooter, 71-year-old George Zinn, approached police officers moments after Kirk was killed yelling “I shot him, now shoot me”.
Zinn has been charged with obstruction of justice and was subsequently charged with possession of child pornography. (RELATED: Waukesha’s Rat Problem Persists as Mayor Reilly Leaves Office With Key Issues Unresolved)
In 2013, Zinn was reportedly charged with bomb threats in the aftermath of the Boston bombing and was present at Ground Zero during 9/11, causing further speculation and rumors about his intentions.
While there is no known association between the shooter and Zinn at this point in time, texts released today between Robinson and his transgender roommate have shed some additional light on his motives. (RELATED: Thousands Attend Waukesha Vigil for Charlie Kirk)
Text messages between Robinson and his roommate indicate that he viewed Kirk as ‘hateful’, saying “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” to his roommate and potential significant other shortly after the shooting.
The FBI is continuing to investigate leftist groups and online circles for potential ties to Robinson and the Charlie Kirk assassination, seeing if leftist groups had advance knowledge of the tragic shooting or assisted Robinson in planning or executing it.
