Wisconsin Republican Bill Berrien is running for governor on a “family values” platform — but his online footprint shows he’s been following a transgender porn star and a laundry list of raunchy sex writers.
Berrien, 56, the Whitefish Bay businessman behind Pindel Global Precision, has pitched himself as a culture warrior bent on keeping “boys out of our daughters’ sports and locker rooms.” His ads praise Donald Trump for “protecting our daughters’ sports.”
But on Medium.com, Berrien’s account subscribed to Jiz Lee — a queer, trans, non-binary porn star who has appeared in more than 100 adult films. He even applauded Lee’s post on “ethical porn,” as uncovered by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
And that wasn’t all. Berrien also followed authors peddling sex tips and kink: Octavio Morrison, who wrote “7 Types of Orgasmic Sensations” and “3 Terrible Reasons to Have a Threesome”; Emma Austin, whose pieces include “Pegging is A-OK” and “I Love Getting Jackhammered”; Sherry Mayle, who penned “The 9 Types of Couples Who Want to Have a Threesome With You”; and Missy Garcia, whose work includes “3 Parts for Transformative Orgasmic Pleasure.”
He subscribed to blogs like Sexography, which calls itself “an inclusive place for people to talk about and explore sexuality,” and Polyamory Today, which promotes open relationships. At one point, he even “clapped” for an essay titled “My Husband Loves Watching Me Flirt With Another Man.” (RELATED: ‘It Was Me’: Charlie Kirk Killer’s Online Confession Puts Discord Under Fire)
Once reporters started asking about his history, Berrien rushed to wipe his account clean. The Wayback Machine shows he followed 41 accounts in January — but after being confronted on Sept. 15, that number dropped to 22. Still, even after his cleanup, he continued following Sexography and other explicit authors.
His campaign insists there’s nothing to see here. “It is absurd to suggest that reading articles about sex as a happily married adult man with three children is in any way out of line with conservative Catholic values,” a spokeswoman said.
But the damage control only highlights a bigger problem for Berrien: a track record of flip-flops that’s left critics calling him a hypocrite. (RELATED: Waukesha’s Rat Problem Persists as Mayor Reilly Leaves Office With Key Issues Unresolved)
He once backed ranked-choice voting — a pet project of Democrats — and even joined Democracy Found, a group promoting election reforms. Now, he claims he’s against it.
During the 2024 presidential primary, he and his wife funneled more than $30,000 to Nikki Haley’s campaign and affiliated groups. Today, he’s on the airwaves bragging about Trump, telling conservative host Dan O’Donnell he “changed his mind.”
One veteran Democratic strategist summed it up: “You can’t slam people for how they live their lives, cozy up to Trump after cutting checks to Nikki Haley, and follow porn blogs on the side. Voters see that as hypocrisy — plain and simple.”
Berrien’s campaign insists he’s focused on manufacturing jobs and protecting Wisconsin families. But between the porn follows and political flip-flops, the question for voters is simple: which Bill Berrien are they really getting?
