Fatal Attack on ICE Agency Building In Dallas 
Gunman opens fire on ICE agents and detainees in an ICE detention facility in Dallas

On Wednesday, a shooter from a rooftop opened fire on an ICE detention facility in Dallas where he injured two and killed one. 

The shooter, 29 year-old Joshua Jahn killed a detainee and left 2 in critical condition at the ICE Dallas field office before taking his own life. One detainee injured is confirmed to be a Mexican National

The shooter was said to be on a rooftop and “indiscriminately at the ICE building, including at a van in the sallyport,” a secured entry way into the facility. The shell casings had “Anti-ICE” written on the casings, stipulating a direct attack on the agency , according to the Department of Homeland Security.

“For months, we’ve been warning politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric about ICE law enforcement before someone was killed. This shooting must serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.

According to the DHS, this is the second major threat to the facility in the last month. Where a bomb threat was made on the building, as a man walked in with a backpack and made statements of being in possession of a bomb. Jahn has no violent criminal past, but he was previously arrested for being in possession of marijuana. According to the New York Post, the shooter is a registered independent who voted in the past two Democratic presidential primaries. His sister has a similar charge on her rapsheet, including multiple other run-ins with law enforcement including an assault arrest. 

“I can confirm at this time that the FBI is investigating this incident as an act of targeted violence. It is unfortunately just the most recent example we have seen of targeted violence to include here in North Texas,” said Special Agent in Charge Joseph Rothrock in a press release

This attack comes merely two weeks after the assassination of well known conservative political activist Charlie Kirk on the campus of Utah Valley University, as well as multiple attacks last weekend.
